Tempe mendoan or more commonly known as mendoan is a unique food from Banyumas, Central Java. Mendoan is considered to be derived from the word mendo which means half cooked or mushy in the Banyumas language.

Tempe mendoan is a variation of the basic ingredients of tempe. Tempe mendoan is Tempe which is coated with flour dough and fried in hot oil and lots of it. Uniquely, Tempe Mendoan is only cooked or half-cooked.

How to made Tempe Mendoan?

Ingredients:
1 Tempe (sliced)
2 tablespoons of rice flour
5 tablespoons of flour
1 tablespoon tapioca flour
Green onions
Enough water

Seasoning Ingredients:
1 small spoon of coriander
1 small spoon of salt
3 cloves of garlic

Steps:
-Prepare the ingredients, then grind the spices.
-Put it in a container.
-Then mix the spices and all ingredients (except Tempe) in one bowl.
-Add water slowly until the consistency is right.
-Turn on the stove and heat the oil.
-Dip the tempeh into the seasoning mixture, then fry.
-Wait until golden yellow.
-Lift and drain.
